La Cocina provides commercial kitchen space and technical assistance to low-income women and immigrant entrepreneurs who are launching, growing and formalizing food businesses. La Cocina also organizes an annual San Francisco Street Food Festival to celebrate the talent, taste and entrepreneurial spirit of their clients and other food vendors.

Nutshell Projects wrote grants and cultivated sponsorship for the 2011 San Francisco Street Food Festival, establishing ongoing relationships for La Cocina with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
